Throughout the summer, USF will host lively markets on several Saturdays, offering something for everyone. On June 14th, you can explore a food and clothing market. On June 21st, there’s a food market combined with a concert by Malum. And on June 28th, enjoy delicious bites at the food market and lace up your skates for a fun roller disco!
These events are perfect for both kids and adults, with great food, exciting vendors, and plenty of activities. Don’t miss Barnas Dyrkeklubb (The Children’s Growing Club) – a wonderful experience for the little ones.

The tradition of lighting a barrel bonfire on Midsummer’s Eve in Kirkebukten has deep roots. Preparations begin as early as a month in advance, with locals building the impressive bonfire by hand. On Midsummer’s Eve, the area comes alive with festivities for both children and adults, with the bonfire as the main attraction. In addition to the fire, the celebration often includes live music, food and drink stalls, and various other activities.
Join in on this vibrant celebration to experience a true Norwegian Midsummer tradition—complete with good food, community spirit, and a spectacular outdoor bonfire. The barrel bonfire in Laksevåg is particularly striking, drawing crowds from across the city each year.

Midsummer’s Eve will also be celebrated at the historic museum in Old Bergen. The festivities include traditional games such as the potato sack race and other fun activities for all ages. As darkness falls, the highlight of the evening begins—the lighting of the grand bonfire.
