Shopping Centers in and Around Bergen
Xhibition is Bergen’s newest shopping center, located in one of the city’s main transport hubs, Olav Kyrres gate, near Bybanen. Opened in 2004 in the former main post office, it spans 20,000 square meters across six floors.
The center has over 40 shops and businesses, including fashion, groceries, sports equipment, interior design, wellness services, and dining options. In 2017, Magic Hotels opened on the 5th and 6th floors. Xhibition is owned and operated by the Magic Norway group.

Galleriet is the largest shopping center in Bergen’s city center, located on Torgallmenningen. It features 70 stores across seven floors, offering a mix of well-known brands and unique products.
The center also has several cafés and eateries. In 2018, Galleriet underwent extensive renovations.

Bergen Storsenter, formerly known as Bystasjonen, was renamed in 1999 after being acquired by Thon Eiendom in 1997. Located at the city’s main public transport hub, it provides direct access to Bystasjonen bus station, Bybanen (light rail), and the Bygarasjen parking facility.
The center features 68 shops across various industries, as well as several dining options. It employs around 700 people. A covered footbridge connects the center to the railway station.

Sundt is a shopping center located right on Torgallmenningen and next to the Galleriet mall. Originally opened in 1938 under the name “Sundt varemagasin”, the building has long been a local landmark.
In 2021, structural issues were discovered that made a major renovation necessary. Following extensive refurbishment, Sundt reopened its doors on March 6, 2025—now looking better than ever. The mall is now bright, modern and spacious.
Today, the center features seven stores and three dining spots, offering visitors a modern shopping experience in a historic setting.

Lagunen Storsenter, located in Bergen’s Fana district, opened in 1985 and is Norway’s largest shopping center by turnover. It features over 200 businesses, including 180 shops, restaurants, and services. With more than 65 fashion stores, it is the largest fashion destination in the Bergen region. The center also offers a wide selection of food, home goods, and specialty stores.
Lagunen has over 2,200 parking spaces with two hours of free parking. It is easily accessible by car and public transport, with direct Bergen Light Rail connections to both the airport and city center. The complex also includes Lagunen Kino, the city’s newest cinema theater.

Vestkanten Storsenter, located in Loddefjord in Bergen’s Laksevåg district, is one of the region’s largest shopping centers. Opened in 1973 as Loddefjord Torg, it now features over 110 stores, a water park, and an ice rink.
The center includes Vannkanten, a leisure complex opened in 2000 with a water park, bowling, a gym, bingo, and dining options, connected to the mall by a bridge. Iskanten, opened in 2007, houses an ice rink with curling facilities, medical offices, a library, and various shops and restaurants.
Vestkanten is well connected by public transport, with a nearby bus terminal serving routes between Loddefjord and Bergen city center.

Oasen Senter is situated in Bergen’s Fyllingsdalen district, opened in 1971. It features over 60 stores and businesses across 40,000 square meters.
Located just a 10-minute drive from Bergen city center, the mall offers around 800 parking spaces, including 19 charging points for electric cars. Oasen also serves as a key transport hub for buses and the Bergen Light Rail to and from Fyllingsdalen.

Åsane Storsenter is located 15 minutes from Bergen city center, easily accessible by car and bus. It features over 135 shops and businesses across 53,000 square meters.

Sletten Senter, located in Bergen’s Årstad district, opened in 1964 and is Norway’s second-oldest shopping center. Renovated and expanded in 2006, it now features 28 stores along with medical and wellness services.
The center is easily accessible, with a Bergen Light Rail stop and bus line 3 at its entrance. It offers 250 parking spaces, including 150 covered spots, with free parking for customers.

Laksevåg Senter is a shopping center in Bergen’s Laksevåg district, located a five-minute drive west of the city center.
Established in 1961, it has expanded multiple times and now features 35 stores and services across four floors. The center offers two hours of free parking.

Sartor Storsenter is located in Straume, Øygarden, about 15 km west of Bergen city center. Opened in 1978, it now features over 160 businesses, including 110 shops, 15 restaurants, and various services in health, entertainment, and more.
The center also offers Kystbygarasjen, an underground parking facility with space for approximately 1,500 cars. Visitors can also enjoy a movie at Odeon Kino Sotra, a local cinema located on the premises.
